Updated Southern Football League (Tas) clearances
February 25th 2010 07:20
List Changes for both the State League and regional leagues are coming in thick and fast, Kingborough welcome former Glenorchy youngster Clinton French to the club while premiers New Norfolk have had a few outs already the notable ones are Jason Brittan (St. Virgils), Adrian Burdon (St. Virgils), Leigh Post (St. Virgils) with forward Nathan Ross and Eagles captain Brad Carver in discussion with feeder club Glenorchy.
Glenorchy have reportedly signed some former Eagles for the 2010 season, but they have yet to be announced. It is still unclear where Former North Hobart duo Chris Cairnduff adn Damien Arnott are headed to in the SFL, they have been cleared to their new SFL home but their names have yet to appear on the SFL's clearances updates. Kermandie will be in the hunt to sign players as they aer re-entering the league after a season out of the league as they went into recess last year. Andrew Nash could be a target of them should he wish to play locally but reports are he has joined a basketball team as a coach down Kingston.
Michael Darcy has also left for Glenorchy, the Cygnet forward is looking to try his hand at State wide football before the end of his playing career. Darcy would add some much needed experience to the Glenorchy forward line that appears to be pretty young with David Hunt, and Marcus Parker being young. Should the Magpies actually sign Nathan Ross he could be another big boost to the Magpies.
Sean Salter is rumoured to be leaving the Magpies as well, having not found himself back into the regular Glenorchy line up last season, Salter may look to find opportunities back int he SFL. Salter is a former Hudson medalist, and a former premiership player with New Norfolk, his Hudson Medal came while playing in the premier league with Glenorchy. Salter has also had a stint with Brighton as well, North Hobart pair, twins Jason and Zak Webb could also be headed to a SFL club as well, as they are transfer listed.
