South Launceston vs Burnie 11:30pm
FORM: New season but same old start for South Launceston, an 83-point thrashing by North Launceston. Burnie was impressive at home against Clarence before being gunned down in the last quarter.
BURNING QUESTION: How can South Launceston coach Dale Chugg turn his Bulldog pups into a competitive TSL side? After being sidelined for nearly all of last season, how long before the TSL sees the best of former Essendon ruckman-forward Jason Laycock?
THE KEY: Luke Shackleton is a big loss for Burnie after suffering a hamstring strain last week but he can be covered against the Bulldogs. This should be the ideal game for Laycock to find some touch, form and confidence and if he does, watch out.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Even at Youngtown, Burnie should register its first win of the season. These two played a couple of very close encounters last season, but the Dockers have recruited well and got the body size and experience into their side that the Bullies sadly miss.
TIP: Burnie by 44 points.
