FORM: After its shock win over Glenorchy, the Tigers have dropped their past two games, thrashed by Burnie on the Coast and losing a two-point heart-breaker to North Hobart before the bye. North Launceston followed up its best win of the season, the victory over North Hobart in round seven, by being comfortably beaten by Launceston yet again.
BURNING QUESTION: With just two wins from the first eight games, this is the Tigers last chance of it is to stay in touch with the top five, can they rally or will it be another season without finals action? Can North Launceston chalk up a victory on its first trip south this season and stay in touch with the top five?
THE KEY: Northern Bombers forward Darren Crawford remains by far his side's most important player. He has been named in the best six times in the first eight games; including the last five games straight. He has also booted 24 goals, 14 more than any other Bomber. If the Tigers can stop Crawford, they could stop the Bombers.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? A real 50-50 game. Can the Northern Bombers produce their best on the road to show they are worthy of finals action or will it be another limp performance when needed most? The Bombers have some real class in Crawford, Shane Wager, Paul O’Shea and Michael Praciak, but the Tigers have shown when they click, they can push anyone. Aaron Hall has not kicked a goal in his past two games both losses and the Tigers need him to fire. On the close confines of the TCA Ground, the Tigers might just prevail in a tight one.
TIP: Hobart by 3 points.
