SUMMARY
Hobart finally captured their first win last weekend against Lauderdale a win that they thought they were not going to get after being pumped three weeks in a row. Burnie on the other hand they thought they were a good chance at adding more early misery to Glenorchy after the Pies had lost to Lauderdale the week before. The Dockers lead into the last quarter, even held a 26 point lead early in the last, but then the Magpies came home with a wet sail on a miserable windy day at West Park.
The turmoil that has swept the Dockers over summer was forgotten when they were 2-0, now they are 2-2 and facing a Tigers outfit that have gotten their first win. The Tigers faced a tough task against the Bombers, late in the game the Bombers were looking like they were going to win again at their grounds reopening. The Dockers and Tigers have only met the once before this season and they were beaten rather easily last season.
Before that the Dockers managed to smash the Tigers, in 1996 the Tigers played their 1000th Tasmanian Football League game and to celebrate that milestone they became the first team since 1911 to not score a goal at all during a game. With the exodus the Dockers have had, and the confidence the Tigers have, can this be the thing that tips them over the edge? Or are they going to again fail to get over the line they have done in the past?
This is the first time they are going to be playing at the TCA Ground, and the Tigers have been known to be a bit of a tough ask there, they beat Glenorchy there before the State of Origin Break last season, they troubled Clarence for the first half there this season before their miserable second half saw them soundly beaten by the Roos.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Sam Reeves (Hobart) – Had a solid game last week, really stood up there when the Tigers needed someone to, and booted a couple of goals, and managed to set a couple up, he is still only young and going to be a great addition to the Hobart Football Club.
Luke Shackleton (Burnie) – The playing assistant coach has been good in the past for the Dockers, manages to kick goals, set up goals, and he has the ability to inspire the Dockers when they are needing someone to. He's a tough player as well, and if they need someone to show some team spirit he will be one they will look to.
QUESTION MARKS
The Dockers have caused the Tigers a lot of problems in the past smashing them all over the ground and on the scoreboard, with the players the Dockers are now missing, can the Tigers sneak in for a win finally? Or will a poor history of games against the Dockers see another smashing again?
A heartbreaking loss last week for the Dockers, they would have thought they had the game in the bag, is that last quarter going to haunt the Dockers? They are on a 2 game losing streak after coming out and proving they are not going to be easy beats this season, is the honeymoon over there at Burnie for their new coach?
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
Burnie are a good side and despite their loss to North Launceston and Glenorchy, especially the fadeout against Glenorchy the Dockers still have more quality on their list then Hobart, the Tigers in the end were lucky to survive, the Bombers were coming and if they did not leave the run too late they could have gotten the game.
The game should be closer then the other games these two teams have played in recent years, but the Tigers are still going to find the going tough, being at their home ground may help them in a minor way but the Dockers are going to be too strong.
