SUMMARY
Cross town rivals are to duke it out at Youngtown Oval, the Dogs are 1-2 and the Bombers are 2-1 after their big win against the Dockers last weeekend. South Launceston are again looking to try and cause an upset in the TSL but they have a team that are looking at playing in their first finals series in the new TSL. The Bombers have a strong forward line set up, with Darren Crawford, Justin Cotton, and can also rely on Aaron Viney to drift forward to score some goals himself.
The south Launceston boys are still pretty young and have some talented kids there with Miar, Chapman, and Richard Heazlewood, Dale Chugg has a tough ask against his former side here, the Dogs are going to hope that they can cause themselves an upset here.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Justin Cotton (North Launceston) – Teaming up with small gun forward Darren Crawford he has managed to kick a few goals, he was the top goal kicker in the win against the Dockers, he and Crawford are going to be a tough pair for the Dogs to beat.
Jay Blackberry (South Launceston) – Has been a consistent performer for the Dogs and he is going to be needed to get a lot of the ball for them, he and Zadow are going to be the keys for the Dogs. With Chapman needed to kick them some goals.
QUESTION MARKS
The Bombers are in good form after they beat the Dockers last week, can they travel up to Youngtown and beat the Dogs at their home ground?
The Dogs have had one big win over Lauderdale this season, they have in the past upset teams like Launceston, and Devonport, as well as North Hobart, can they finally break through this season?
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
Everyone loves a good underdog story but North Launceston are not going to be an easy team for the Bulldogs to beat, and as such will see them lose again this week, the last time they played each other was late last year in the game of the day for ABC and the Bombers ran riot if Crawford was more accurate he could have had a mini bag of goals against them.
The Bombers have too much class across the park for the Doggies to be able to cover and looks like another thumping for them this week, unless the Dogs can pull off a massive upset at home.
PREDICTION
North Launceston 50 points
