SUMMARY
A historic day for Lauderdale as they unveil their new ground to the public and play their first ever home game on live ABC Television, this is the first time that the ABC has covered a Lauderdale game from Lauderdale Oval. It comes at a great time the Bombers pulled off a massive win against the Magpies last weekend with Robbie McManus booting 5 goals to help assist the boys in the big win. Hobart had a great first half against Clarence last weekend, kept themselves in the game, and even lead at the half time break, but the Roos ran riot in the third quarter booting 12 goals in a garter and dominating the Tigers.
The bad news from that game was the injury to Michael Cassidy, but the good news is, he will only be missing this game and will be back for their game next weekend, Lauderdale had the same problem as Hobart against North Hobart, the Bombers were in that game up until half time and then the gamw was ripped from themm but the difference was the Bombers bad kicking worked against them as they trialed by 30 at the break and were unable to really fight back from that.
With the new ground the Bombers are going to be ready to show off their skill, the ground is bigger and wider and resembles the Sydney Cricket ground in length and width a great chance to debut it with a win. The Bombers are looking to also add more to this venue and it;s going to be a massive addition for the team.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Marcus Fitze (Lauderdale) – Playing some good football for the Bombers, he is going to be essential for them that he has a good game for the Bombers at Lauderdale.
Todd Willing (Hobart) – This is the time for him to step up, he has come to the club this season and the Tigers have lost their other ruckman to an injury and this is going to be a time the Tigers need someone who has not had much good form yet to really show it.
QUESTION MARKS
Lauderdale are playing their first game on the new surface at their home ground, they are coming off the big win against Glenorchy, is it now a good time for the Bombers to finally step up and become a finals contender?
Hobarr are in desperate need to win a game, they have been smashed three weeks in a row, and have injuries, their first halves have been good, is this going to be the day the Tigers are going to come to play? If the Tigers are again smashed, could it be time to put a line through their season, early in this season?
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
Lauderdale have their tales in the air after that stunning win last week, and with their grand opening of their new ground they have so much motivation and so much confidence to do well in this game, and the Tigers are only able to play one good half in recent weeks and then their fadeouts have been punished by Glenorchy and Clarence in recent weeks. It is now time for the Bombers to really step up and show themselves as a good side, they weren't too bad against North Hobart, their kicking let them down, but they managed to find that against the Magpies and win.
Hobart are going to need to learn to finish off games, clearly has been a problem against Glenorchy and Clarence, they were in it against the Roos, and then after half time they were blown away, they just shut up shop after managing to keep themselves in the game and lead by a point. The Tigers also had a bit of trouble finding the goals last weekend and this was what really let the Roos back into the game and kept the Roos there ready to pounce and just steal the game, Hobart are a good young side just need to find a bit of second half form to win, this game is not going to be a clear win to the Bombers, the Tigers have in the past stepped up and won a game with their backs up against a wall and this is a good time for them to do so.
