FORM: Devonport has none after conceding 30 goals last week to Launceston in a 160-point belting. North Launceston did exactly what it needed to do in round one, smashing South Launceston by 83 points.
BURNING QUESTION: How can Devonport coach Glen Lutwyche restore his young side’s confidence after such a mauling to at least produce a competitive performance? Who will be the young Northern Bomber to stop up alongside the likes of regular contributors Shane Wager, Darren Crawford, Michael Praciak and Alan O’Sign?
THE KEY: North Launceston full-forward Darren Crawford could have a field day against the young Pies. Crawford loves kicking a big bag and with the ball likely to be spending the majority of the day in the Northern Bombers forward line, the spring-heeled Crawford could have a field day.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? It is all about learning for the Pies and learning the hard way. They simply don’t have the bodies and experience to match it with North Launceston. The Pies will settle on an improvement from last week and staying in the contest for longer.
TIP: North Launceston by 60 points.
