FORM: Hobart was gritty and determined last week, but lacked the class against Glenorchy and eventually got rolled by 50 points. After its season opening loss, also to Glenorchy, Clarence bounced back with a hard-fought win over Burnie at West Park by kicking six goals to none in the last quarter.
BURNING QUESTION: How can Hobart overcome the class chasm between it and the big teams? Can Clarence find the hunger and desire to push past the perceived lower ranked sides?
THE KEY: As much as anything, it is the ground itself. After two completed seasons of TSL, Clarence is still undefeated on its own patch of turf - a remarkable record and testament to how well the Roos know and play Bellerive Oval.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? The class difference between these two sides is not just a gulf but a canyon. Clarence has stars on every line, a luxury the Tigers cannot afford. Cameron Thurley, Matthew Drury, Jackson O’Brien and Trent Standen will only be strengthened by the return of dual premiership midfielder Ben Setchell this week.
TIP: Clarence by 48 points.
