FORM: Lauderdale’s four-game winning streak came to an end, along with its slim finals hopes, at the hands of Glenorchy despite having more scoring shots. After recent spluttering form, normal service resumed at Clarence with a 75-point hiding of Hobart at Bellerive.
BURNING QUESTION: Lauderdale’s last third of the season has been outstanding, can it go into the off-season with the biggest scalp of all under its belt and really set itself up for 2011? The second half of the season has seen Clarence riddled with injuries to some of its biggest names; can it get through this game unscathed with the finals just a week away?
THE KEY: Junior footy, school footy and representative footy teammates and very good mates, but now talented duo Josh Green (Clarence) and Jacob Gillbee (Lauderdale) might just go head to head in the midfield. Both were outstanding for Tasmania’s division two championship winning side and are headed for the AFL draft camp such is their talent. Worth the admission alone.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Lauderdale can take a lot of positives out of its past five weeks but the Clarence mountain is just a little too steep for the young Southern Bombers. The Roos have match-winners everywhere led by Cameron Thurley, Trent Standen, Stuart Whitelaw and Green – match-winners the Bombers can’t cover.
TIP: Clarence by 36 points.
