FORM: After hammering Glenorchy in round 16, Hobart copped a hammering itself last week by Clarence, belted by 75 points. Launceston just keeps on winning, its 11th straight victory coming with a comfortable 28-point win over North Launceston at Aurora Stadium.
BURNING QUESTION: Will Hobart go quietly into the night, or have the Tigers got one last growl left in them in 2010? Can Launceston make it 12 in a row and give itself the perfect preparation for a charge at the 2010 premiership?
THE KEY: He is the Tassie Medallist favourite for a reason and Hobart will see why. Blues captain Scott Stephens has been unstoppable for nearly the entire season. His work rate is just about unmatched in the competition, leaving many opponents left in his wake as he racks up 30-plus touches nearly every game.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: It is impossible to tip against a side going for its 12th straight win. The Blues have been the form team of the second half of the season. If they can manage the usual Hobart enthusiastic start, they should be able to run away with a comfortable victory, just as Clarence did against the Tigers the previous round. On the small ground, Launceston full-forward Brian Finch might run amok if he can get plenty of supply.
TIP: Launceston by 44 points.
