FORM: After a three-game winning burst had Burnie in finals contention, the Dockers have lost their past four, including a 53-point mauling by Devonport last round. South Launceston has been extremely disappointing, not having won a game since round six – a one-point win over Burnie at West Park.
BURNING QUESTION: Which side is going to go into the long, tough 2011 pre-season buoyed by a last round victory?
THE KEY: This match might be Young Talent Time, but it is the four experienced Dockers in Matthew Stephenson, Darren Banham, Luke Shackleton and Kade Munday who hold the key. It is this kind of experience the Doggies are lacking.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Burnie deserve to go into the off-season with a win after being hammered by most critics leading into the season. The Dockers have been almost heroic in persevering with kids, turning them into senior TSL players capable of mixing it with the best. South has got more games into its young pups in 2010, but that’s it.
TIP: Burnie by 42 points.
