FORM: After a form slump, North Launceston has won its past two games over North Hobart and South Launceston to secure its first appearance in the TSL finals. It was a tight contest last round for Launceston, but it still recorded its 10th straight win to lock up second spot and sit just behind Clarence as the premiership favourite.
BURNING QUESTION: Can North Launceston mix it with one of the real powers of the 2010 season or is it just content to make a finals appearance? Is there any stopping Launceston in this form?
THE KEY: Launceston ruckman Andrea Miar has been in scintillating form for Launceston, being best on ground in the win over Devonport last week. With his spring and athleticism, he has given the Blues midfield first use in the middle and around the stoppages.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: North Launceston’s return to form will be well and truly tested against the red hot Blues. Gary Shipton and Gene Savage lead the Blues defence, while the TSL’s leading goal-kicker Brian Finch is the key in attack in a well-balanced side. Launceston appears to have an edge in overall class for its cross-town rivals and might just make it 11 straight.
TIP: Launceston by 18 points.
