FORM: North Launceston won its first game in five rounds with a 31-point win over last-placed Devonport. Glenorchy won a crucial top five game against North Hobart by 10 points at KGV, its second win in a row under new coach Kim Excell.
BURNING QUESTION: Can North Launceston keep its slim finals hopes alive with a vital win over the Magpies? Can Glenorchy keep its form rolling with a crucial away win so close to the finals?
THE KEY: Glenorchy's Nathan Matthews has started to hit his best form at the right end of the season. In his trademark long sleeves, Matthews was best afield in the tight win over North Hobart last week. He can sweep across half back and push up to the midfield with his precise and deadly left foot. If left unchecked he can run amok.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Glenorchy's recent form has been irresistible. It does not come much better than wins over Clarence and North Hobart in the past two rounds. North Launceston is spluttering towards the season’s end and the Magpies have only been strengthened by the inclusion of co-captain Jon Bowring, Jake Cox, David Kameric, Daniel Joseph and Ben Brown.
TIP: Glenorchy by 24 points.
