FORM: Clarence bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 21-point win over North Hobart, but it was far from easy with the scores level at the last change. Hobart had not won a game for two months, and then out of nowhere came out and smashed favourite Glenorchy by 93-points in the Tigers best TSL performance.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Clarence refind its best form so close to finals? Can Hobart repeat the stellar performance of last week or was it just a one-off?
THE KEY: Clarence continues to have a rolling door selection policy. This week, the Roos have rested Stuart Whitelaw, Cameron Blight and Matthew Geappen while captain Nick Paine will miss with a knee injury. But the in the inclusions are some beauties in star utility Cameron Thurley, the state’s top under-18 player Josh Green, fellow Mariner Adam Green, former Devils onballer Ben Setchell and Mariners forward Charlie Riewoldt to underline the Roos depth.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Hobart will be confident after such an impressive performance, but it is just impossible to tip against Clarence at Bellerive, where it is undefeated in the TSL’s history. Tigers full-forward Jeremy Howe was on fire last round with six goals and a number of spectacular marks, but will not find it so easy against the Roos defence.
TIP: Clarence by 32 points.
