FORM: Burnie again came up short against Launceston, this time by 44-points at Aurora Stadium despite having more scoring shots than the Blues. Devonport was very competitive against North Launceston, a five-goal loss the Magpies best result in months.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Burnie put that final piece in place before the finals so it is ready for the big boys come finals time? Can Devonport get itself up for its Coastal rival and provide the upset of the season?
THE KEY: A series of hamstring injuries curtailed the first half of the season former Devil and Collingwood midfielder Luke Shackleton, playing just five of the Dockers first 10 games. But he has now strung the last six games together and getting back to his best. He was the Dockers best player in the loss to the Blues last season and he could be the bonus to Burnie come finals time.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Burnie simply cannot afford to drop this game if it wants to hold onto the double chance. The Dockers have all the motivation and all the guns as well with a host of players Devonport cannot match. The young Magpies will lift for their arch-rivals but it won't be enough and expect the Dockers to eventually run out easy victors.
TIP: Burnie by 69 points.
