FORM: Launceston's remains perfect, almost to the point of boring for every other team and their supporters, with 15 wins from 15 rounds. Burnie's continue to build with four wins in a row seeing the Dockers move a game and percentage clear in third spot.
BURNING QUESTION: This is the Blues last true test before the finals; can they defeat the Dockers and all but assure an undefeated home-and-away season? Can the Dockers prove they are a worthy premiership contender with a win over the flag favourites?
THE KEY: Burnie AFL prospect Brody Mihocek has been in great form since coming back from the national carnival. He was best afield in the Dockers last match, a comfortable win over North Launceston. Playing across half back, he can take a strong contested mark as well as spoiling many an opposition foray forward. He will need to be at his best to help cut off the supply to Blues full-forward Brian Finch and his many sidekicks if the Dockers are to hand Launceston its first defeat.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? The switch from Windsor Park to Aurora Stadium will assist the Dockers as no one has got near the Blues on their home ground. But the Dockers are not the quickest side going round and the wide open expanses of Aurora will not suit them entirely. Launceston’s form is simply too strong to tip against, and the Blues have had little trouble with the Dockers both times this season so far. Burnie has some terrific top end talent in Jason Laycock, Andrew Lee, Darren Banham and Mihocek, but the Blues talent runs far deeper, especially with the return of Scott Stephens, Sam O'Keefe, Nathan O’Donoghue and Sam Rundle from injury. Expect the Blues blitzkrieg to roll on.
TIP: Launceston by 39 points.
