FORM: Devonport has one win for the season, South Launceston two, it pretty much sums up where these two teams are at form wise.
BURNING QUESTION: The battle for the wooden spoon, will it be the Magpies first TSL spoon or will the Doggies keep their perfect record going and pick up their third in three TSL seasons?
THE KEY: Both sides are seriously lacking in class with one stand out exception. South Launceston's Mitch Thorp was a top 10 AFL draft pick and with a bit of luck injury wise might forged a long career at Hawthorn. He has again been hampered by injury but returned for his first game in five rounds last week against North Hobart and still kicked four goals.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? The two teams have met twice this season with Devonport winning the first encounter at Devonport and South Launceston the second at Youngtown. Given this game is in the Doggies kennel it gives South Launceston the edge. Mariners captain, John McKenzie and Tasmania's best player at the recent under-18s national championships, is a much welcome inclusion for South Launceston. The home team's form is also much better than the Magpies, with a win over Hobart to compliment its win over Devonport earlier in the season. Devonport is looking towards the season ending and it cannot come quick enough for the young Magpies.
TIP: South Launceston by 39 points
