FORM: North Hobart has won three of four games under new coach Lance Spaulding. But it is hard to get a form line on the Demons just yet as their past two victories came against bottom teams Devonport and South Launceston. Lauderdale stormed into the top five for the first time in its history on the back of an 89-point thrashing of Glenorchy at Lauderdale.
BURNING QUESTION: Can North Hobart win a crunch game when it counts? Can Lauderdale keep its fairytale going and charge into its first ever finals series?
THE KEY: North Hobart key forward Zeke Gardam has been in rare form lately, kicking 18 goals since arrival of Spaulding four weeks ago. And it has not just been against the weaker teams with four of the Demons six in the loss to Clarence. He will most likely have Bombers key defender Jack Siggins as his opponent on Saturday in what will be a crucial battle. Lauderdale coach Darren Winter said Siggins would be leading the club's best and fairest given his consistent year.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Last time these two met, Lauderdale put North Hobart to the sword at North Hobart spelling the end of Clinton Brown's coaching tenure at the Demons. The Bombers have continued on this good form while the Demons have regrouped. Glenorchy's upset win last week over Clarence increases the importance of this game even more with both teams on eight wins. Lauderdale has a more even spread of talent, but North Hobart has more stars, led by captain Ken Hall, Nathan Street, Gardam and prospective AFL draftee Julian Dobosz. However despite the Demons edge at the top end, the Bombers evenness means they do not rely on two or three players to guide them to victory each week.
