FORM: Hobart has now lost its past six games to be out of finals contention for 2010, a disappointing return after the Tigers were a game clear in sixth after round eight. Lauderdale’s patience is starting to pay off, with the Southern Bombers victorious in their last two games. Impressively, both wins have come against teams in the top six, North Hobart and North Launceston.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Hobart rally and take something positive out of the final stages of the 2010 season? Can Lauderdale keep its impressive run going, but this time on the road after its last two wins came at home?
THE KEY: Tassie Mariner Jacob Gillbee has been superb for Lauderdale in recent weeks. Playing across half forward he has provided a mobile marking target as well as pushing up to the wings and across half back to be a link man in the Bombers chain.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: While Hobart’s form has continued to dip as Lauderdale’s surged as its young players have improved. The return of defensive play-maker Aaron Hall and ruckman Matthew Cleary are big ins for the Tigers, but Lauderdale is full of confidence and deservedly so.
TIP: Lauderdale by 18 points.
