FORM: Burnie had a convincing 59-point win over Hobart at the TCA last round to stay a game clear in third spot. North Launceston came up against another big gun and again fell short. The Northern Bombers have lost their past three games easily to Lauderdale, Clarence and Launceston to drop from third to seventh.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Burnie hold onto the all important third spot and the vital double chance? Can North Launceston put in a performance worthy of a top five team?
THE KEY: Former Essendon key position player Andrew Lee looks ready to explode. Playing at full forward against Hobart, he kicked the Dockers first four goals last week, but an injury to his finger in a marking contest saw no more goals for the game. If he gets enough supply he could well kick a bag but also has the versatility to play as a key defender if required.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? North Launceston remains that rung short of the top teams. The Northern Bombers earlier trip to West Park ended in a 44-point loss to the Dockers and it is hard to see any change. Ruckman Jason Laycock is getting very close to his best for the Dockers and with midfielders Kade Munday and Darren Banham, and forwards Damon Smith and Lee in form; Burnie should have all the answers.
TIP: Burnie by 46 points.
