FORM: South Launceston was hammered by Burnie last week by just over 20 goals in an uncompetitive performance. North Hobart had a 21-goal victory over Devonport that lifted its percentage and the Demons into fifth spot.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Bulldogs interim coach Mitch Hills pull a rabbit out of his hat with a win over the Demons and lock up the job for next season? Can Tasmanian under-18s full-forward Julian Dobosz have an impact for North Hobart and attract the attention of AFL recruiters?
THE KEY: North Hobart's Caden Wilson is the ultimate swingman. He can play the role of a running defender or swung forward and change a match. Despite playing games deep in defence or in the midfield, Wilson is the Demons leading goal-kicker with 29. With new coach Lance Spaulding switching regular forward Paul Allison to the back half, Wilson will be even more prominent in attack in the run to the finals.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? North Hobart simply cannot afford to lose such a winnable game. An upset loss to the Bulldogs would most likely cost the Demons any chance of finals action. South Launceston is pluckier at home, but does not have the tools to dismantle the Demons. With Wilson, Zeke Gardam and Dobosz up forward and Ken Hall, Zane Murphy and Nathan Street in the midfield, North Hobart should cruise to another big victory.
TIP: North Hobart by 74 points.
