FORM: Hobart lost its seventh straight game last round but it was in the most tragic circumstances a one-point loss to Lauderdale. Burnie breezed past South Launceston by 123-points to move a game clear into the crucial third spot.
BURNING QUESTION: Will last round's heartbreaking loss galvanise Hobart or take the final bit of fight out of the Tigers? Can Dockers midfielder Darren Banham continue on his outstanding form that has him hot on the heels of Clarence's Cameron Thurley in the player of the year award?
THE KEY: Former Essendon ruckman Jason Laycock is returning to his very best as he regains confidence in his body and continuity in his game. He has been named in Burnie's top three players in each of the Dockers past four games. As a mobile, 201cm, 105kg ruckman, he is peerless as the best big man in the competition and is arguably the Dockers most important player in their finals campaign.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Hobart does not have the depth of the TSL sides in finals contention and it has told heavily on the Tigers season. Last round, they got a few of their more experienced and better players back from the Mariners, injury and suspension and were far more impressive despite still missing out. But Burnie has what the Tigers desperately lack match-winners. In Laycock, Andrew Lee, Darren Banham, Luke Shackleton and Rohan Baldock, the Dockers have the artillery to keep the competitive Tigers at bay, especially with third spot on the line.
TIP: Burnie by 23 points.
