FORM: Hobart was sitting pretty a game clear in the top six, but after dropping its last three games now finds itself a game outside and in for a real fight to get back in. Clarence was flat as a pancake last round at Lauderdale but still kept its unbeaten run in tact after 11 rounds.
BURNING QUESTION: Which Hobart will turn up – the Tigers that defeated North Hobart and lost on just about the last kick of the day last round against North Launceston or the Tigers that were easily downed by last-placed Lauderdale? Is Clarence’s form dipping or is it merely just a lull in a long season?
THE KEY: Clarence’s depth will be much tested. Tasmanian co-captain Cameron Thurley has joined playing-coach Brett Geappen, Trent Whitelaw and Josh Green on the absent list. But the Roos have been compensated with the return of captain Nick Paine for the first time since round two and state onballer Jackson O’Brien.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Surprisingly given its home ground is the tiny TCA Ground, Hobart’s best performances have been on the bigger venues such as its win over North Hobart at Bellerive so the tight confines of North Hobart Oval will not do it any favours. After 11 straight wins, it would be foolish to start tipping against Clarence now especially against a side outside the top six.
TIP: Clarence by 35 points
