FORM: Clarence is starting to look frighteningly good, as evidenced by its comprehensive 11-goal thumping of Lauderdale last round, its seventh win in a row. North Hobart bounced back from a week of controversy to hand new coach Lance Spaulding a 31-point victory over Glenorchy to stay in finals contention.
BURNING QUESTION: How close is Clarence from its form that landed the first two TSL premierships? Was last week's performance a one-off for the Jekyll and Hyde Demons or can Spaulding produce a consistent effort not seen from North Hobart in many years?
THE KEY: Key defender Jesse Wells is a bit of a barometer for the Demons, it seems when he fires so does North Hobart. He thrashed Ben Reynolds, one of the best key forwards in the TSL, last round and will probably get the job on Mitch Williamson against Clarence. Williamson kicked eight goals last week but will find it much tougher against Wells.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? North Hobart was very impressive last week under Spaulding applying plenty of pressure in a disciplined performance, two aspects not seen by those in red and blue in a month. But beating up on a depleted Glenorchy is completely different to beating Clarence at Bellerive. The Roos are travelling beautifully at the moment and appear too consistent and experienced for the Demons.
TIP: Clarence by 27 points.
