North Launceston vs Hobart 4:00pm
Preview
Sourced: Tasmanian State League
FORM: North Launceston was more than just competitive against ladder-leader Clarence before the state game break, taking it right up to the Roos at their Bellerive fortress. For Hobart, it missed another opportunity to cement a spot in the top six, letting slip a 25-point quarter time lead to lose comfortably to Glenorchy at KGV.
BURNING QUESTION: After a promising first half of the season last year, the Northern Bombers fell away and missed the finals, will history repeat? Can the Tigers put a fortnight of very disappointing performances behind them and overcome one of the stronger TSL teams on the road?
THE KEY: The Northern Bombers mosquito fleet, led by Shane Wager, Alan O’Sign and Adam Viney, have been North Launceston’s suppliers to its armoury up forward. If they can run free, it could be another sad trip back down the Midlands for the Tigers.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY: Hobart has just been too inconsistent to pick with any optimism, especially against a consistent opponent on its home deck. North Launceston forward Darren Crawford will have a bit to prove after being the last man cut from the state squad last week and will be too talented and clever for the Tigers defence.
TIP: North Launceston by 32 points
