FORM: Lauderdale had arguably its best win of the season last round with a 35-point victory over North Hobart at North Hobart Oval, and while still in sixth, is only one game off third spot now in a tight field. Clarence recorded its sixth win in a row, this time with a 133-point demolition of Hobart at the TCA Ground.
BURNING QUESTION: Can Lauderdale continue its form surge and take down the Roos for the first time in the TSL? Clarence has signed former Devil and Richmond draftee Alex Gilmore from Old Scholars club University midweek, can he slip straight into TSL level?
THE KEY: Trent Standen is arguably the best small forward in the competition. He hasn’t got the big hauls of last season, where he won the award for the best new player, but he is averaging almost three goals a game this season and has kicked seven goals in the last two weeks. He needs to be stopped for the Bombers to chalk up a win.
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY? Lauderdale is improving and quickly, but this task might just be too tough for the young Bombers. Clarence is gathering like a storm and despite being the dual reigning premier, has so far flown under the radar given Launceston’s unbeaten start to the season. The Roos simply have too much class and more match-winners than the Bombers and should secure their seventh straight victory.
TIP: Clarence by 19 points.
