PREVIEW
Lauderdale threatened at times last season to be a chance of finals, pushed some of the top teams to the very end but they failed to make the finals again. North Hobart on the other hand made the finals, enjoyed two final victories, but they were unable to challenge the big three of Clarence, Devonport and Launceston.
The Demons have had the better of the Bombers since the inception of the TSL, for one half the Bombers looked like beating the Demons but then the Demons blew the Bombers away. A story known to unfamiliar with this side. But Lauderdale enjoyed prized scalps of Glenorchy and North Hobart last season, the last time these two teams met the Bombers walked away with the points at Lauderdale.
Neither of this sides had too much to do with the list changes over the summer, North Hobart's Sam Darley was given a chance to head off to the Giants, Robbie Devine retired and joined Glenorchy as a coach, Matthew Creese is now at Hutchins, and Mitch Smith returned to Melbourne. The Dees welcomed Zane Murphy to the club, a big signing for the Demons after his stellar year in the TSL. Adrian Williams returned from Queensland, and Rhys Long re-joined them from retirement.
At Lauderdale they lost Jacob Gilbee to the brand new Gold Coast Suns side, ruckman Andrew Philips heard his name read at by the Giants at the rookie draft and Mitch Williamson went and joined the Roos. As far as signings go, Matthew Smith former Glenorchy premiership player returned to the state after failing to really make an impact at Coburg, Kaine Waller joins the side, and Hayden Smith comes down from the Bendigo Bombers.
North Hobart hasn't played in a Grand Final the new TSL, they were beaten by Glenorchy in their last Grand Final appearance, the Bombers in only their third season in the TSL haven't yet had finals success. They have shown signs of being a competitive side but then they would fade out and be overrun in the second half. A tale that was told many times in recent times, in some games they were blown away before that, and sometimes they've stolen a win.
Under Darren Winter the Bombers have been learning that while they are young, they are not going to be pushed around, the Demons under Clinton Brown managed to win two of their finals, one of which was to eliminate Glenorchy from the finals. Devonport beat them in what was a horrible game in horrible conditions at Devonport Oval. The rain came, the muddy conditions made it hard to score, and it saw the Demons' season come to a screeching holt.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Matthew Smith (Lauderdale) – A dual premiership player from Glenorchy, he landed a gig with the Coburg Football Club in the VFL, but by all reports struggled to play regular season football. He was apart of the Glenorchy team that beat the Demons, he and Hayden Smith were two players to keep and eye on but the returning Matthew should make a difference to North Hobart.
Zane Murphy (North Hobart) – if it was not for suspension the former Docker turned Bomber turned Demon would've claimed the Tassie Medal last season. Geappen won the medal through the suspension but Zane Murphy showed he was a premier player in the league, if he can keep his cool during the season he could claim his medal this season.
QUESTION MARKS
A brand new season, brings brand new optimism that the Bombers can possibly break their TSL Finals Duck, but are the Bombers really on the improve enough to beat the Demons? Or have they just been lucky to steal some points here and there?
North Hobart has been the better side in these clashes apart from their last meeting, and it was another season that they would lose heading into the finals. With the addition of Murphy are the Demons ready to put the loss behind them and move onto maybe a shot at a flag?
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
North Hobart are the better side they have more talent, and they are a team that should win this game, they've dominated the Bombers in every clash they have played. The only time the Demons have found it tough against the Bombers, was the same round that they had lost to the Tigers the year before, the last one. Maybe this is a sign that the Demons aren't able to finish off the season well, and this was a minor hiccup. Zane Murohy is going to make a big difference to the side, as weill Nathan Street who is coming back from a knee injury that ruined his season last season.
Question marks are certainly going to be on Long and Street, both players coming back after a long lay off, Rhys Long has been out of the game longer and will take his team to get back into the swing of things. The Demons should win this game, maybe not with the ease that they would like. Lauderdale have almost made this ground a fortress, they have managed to upset teams there, and even pushed the Tigers to their limits before again failing to finish off the good work.
