Jaye Bowden new game development officer of Glenorchy

March 6th 2010 21:08
The Glenorchy District Football Club is pleased to announce that Jaye Bowden has been chosen to fill the recently advertised position of Game Development Officer left vacant when Glenn Balmforth departed recently for a similar job with the Melbourne Football Club. In the role of Game Development Officer Jaye Bowden will be in charge of organising football clinics at High schools, and primary schools in and around the Glenorchy zoned areas of Claremont and New Norfolk. As well as many other community activites this would put an end to the rumours that Jaye was leaving the Glenorchy District Football Club for a VFL side.

Previously VFL club Werribee, and Coburg, as well as possible other sides were interested in gaining the services of the former Devil, after a stellar year with the Magpies in the 2009 TSL season, Jaye remains with the club. Presently it seems the only major loses for the Magpies have been Shane Piuselli, and Shayne Moles both to Coburg coached by another former Magpie in David Newitt.

Newitt was once an assistant under Dean Laidley at the Roos, but once Brad Scott got to the club, he was no longer required and he has been given a chance to not omly be a senior coach at the Coburg Football Club, but also assist in working with the Richmond Football Club as well as an assistant.

Glenorchy kicked off it's season yesterday in an intraclub match at Abbotsfield Park, Glenorchy will be playing NTFL side Ulvestone next Saturday at Pontville, followed by follow TSL club North Launceston before they have their jumper presentation with guest host former Collngwood premiership player & former Burnie Dockers premiership coach Mick McGaune on March 26th. .
