Jacko signs with Kermandie
March 10th 2010 03:03
Kermandie have made another high profile signing in hopes to resurrect the football club, Mark "Whacko Jacko" Jackson has been confirmed as their second big signing after the news broke of Warrick Capper joining the struggling Southern Football League side. Mark Jackson has not AFL played for 24 years and his fitness might be suspect. But Kermandie coach Paul Allison said yesterday: "Jacko said to me 'Just give me the ball and I'll let DNA take over'."
With the former AFL stars donning the club's red and blue, Kermandie's opening round game would attract thousands of spectators and grab plenty of media attention. The only catch is that Kermandie has not been included on the Southern Football League roster in 2010.
The 123-year-old club had struggled to gather enough players for preseason training to convince the SFL it would be a viable club this year. Subsequently, it was left off the 2010 rosters series, which was printed today. The League will again have a bye each week of this season, unless the Robins can find 38 more players, which would then cause the league to re-print the SFL Fixture, unless they allow the Robins to play the sides who have been drawn the bye each weekend.
It is unclear what will happen to both players if the team fails to get the numbers, by the sounds of things the club will die completely if this season is not going to be the return of the Robins.
