SUMMARY
Hobart return to the TCA Ground with a massive task, after staying with Glenorchy for three quarters their last quarter saw the Magpies trounce them by 43 points and they also have lost Jarratt Horton for a few weeks with a knee injury, the Roos have an injury concern as well as captain Nick Paine has torn his quad and won't be around for a few weeks himself. The Roos have had an easy start to the 2010 season, even if the ABC sent shockwaves through the TSL and scared some fans in Hobart by flashing over the scores that said they were getting beaten at Half Time, Clarence fans managed to breath a bit easy when the ABC admitted their mistake, Hobart fans can only wish they were seeing the scores reversed last weekend.
But Clarence have not yet been troubled, they had disposed of both Glenorchy and South Launceston so far this season and Hobart, well they have been the opposite, Glenorchy beat them, North Hobart beat them easily, and the tasks have not gotten any easier this week, a plus side for the Tigers has been that they managed to keep within arms reach of Glenorchy but their last quarter is what has hurt them. The Tigers welcome back Graham, and bring in Joshua Dykes as well into the side, a test for their new recruit Tom Friend, and Todd Willing this week.
For the Roos, Wilson, O'Brien, and Coad come into the side, Matthew Geappen is fit enough to go on and we already know the Roos have lost Nick Paine for a few weeks, he will be back sometime into the second half of the season, Hobart are going to hope that with this game they can put in a better last quarter then they have done and hopefully hold the Clarence forwards, right now Brett Geappen is looking unstoppable up forward for the Roos.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Michael Cassidy (Hobart) – Cassidy is going to become very important for the Tigers, with their other ruckmam Horton gone, they are going to need him to work hard in the ruck, for the Tigers he can also kick goals he has 5 for the season, booted 3 against the Magpies last week.
Brett Geappen (Clarence) – When Brad Dutton retired the Roos had a bit of a hole to fill in the forward line, and it seems that the playing coach has been the one to fill it, he booted 8 last week, and he has 11 goals for the season, a ready made replacement in the forward line for the Roos, he is one of many stars for the Roos, but he has been proving dangerous in the Clarence forward line.
QUESTION MARKS
Hobart are 0-2 after two rounds, they have been easily beaten in both their games and now they have lost Horton for a few weeks, can the Tigers regroup and pull off what is going to be summed up as the impossible this week? Can Jeremy Howe fire the Tigers up as their full forward this weekend?
Clarence have had an easy start minus a few moments of their Grand Final replay match against Glenorchy, last week they blew away the Dogs, will complicity start to slip ih early as the Roos are again expected to flog Hobart this week?
WHO WILL WIN AND WHY
Clarence have been playing good football, and have been dangerous and destroyed both the sides they have faced this season, they managed to completely out played a good side in Glenorchy and they just blew away the Bulldogs last week. Despite the loss of captain Nick Paine is going to hurt them, but they do have the cattle to back this up. Hobart has lost Horton which is going to be a bit of a loss to them as well but the Roos have all class across the board with Savage and Blight helping to hold down the backline, with Savage able to move forward as well.
This class should be enough to beat the Tigers this week, the only thing that can beat Clarence are Clarence by not taking this game seriously and just allowing Hobart to play the game in their style and not for them to tell the Tigers how the game is going to be and then blowing them away late in the game, or even early in the game.
