THE Box Hill Hawks have baulked at a $15,000 transfer fee being demanded for former Burnie coach Justin Plapp.
Plapp has joined Box Hill as a development coach and is hoping to continue his playing career in the VFL.
But he maintains the transfer fee being sought by Burnie is excessive and his playing future with Box Hill remains up in the air.
"I'm 32 years of age and whether I can play VFL football will be determined by the state of my body," he said.
"It is not as though I'm 28 and going to the VFL with three or four years of good footy ahead of me," he said.

Glenorchy have also maintained they wish to be repaid for any player that VFL clubs poach as well, with Shane Piuselli and Shayne Moles' transfer to the Coburg Football Club in the VFL being set at$10,000 per player. VFL clubs are said to also be interested in Glenorchy's Jaye Bowden who once played for the Tasmanian Devils, as well as possibly Glenorchy young gun Bryce O'Garey. It seems as though neither are in fact headed to the VFL, though Bowden may travel overseas.
